Unconditional Giving

As we move into this Christmas season, may we find a way to enhance the peace and turn down the stress and simply live in......

Unconditional Giving

The act of giving with or without expectation sometimes portrays as a teeter tooter that is just difficult to balance. “Unconditional giving” may be easy to state, but not always easy to live. We may believe that we are able to give and not expect anything in return, however, sometimes our hearts beg to receive. It is often our intent to give without expectation, yet as human beings, we hope to somehow be noticed or hear a “thank-you” at the very least.

In order to give unconditionally, we have to dig deeply inside of our “spirit-self” and allow our soul to remind us that we are able to give freely when we know that we have already received the gifts or talents necessary from which to produce further gifts.

Do you get it? I introduced this in “Living Thanksgiving” when I spoke of being thankful to be able to give. We were born with gifts and talents that have allowed us to learn, grow, specialize and eventually earn a multitude of rewards. When we truly come to a state of understanding that as we live as the person whom we were born to be, we create an abundance that allows us to give unconditionally.

Take notice when you begin to give in this manner or think about the times that you have already given without expectation. Your heart knows that you have made an impact in some way. You may or may not actually see the benefits of this impact, but your entire being knows and warms your soul and this tends to convey a great big “thank-you”!

And even though you are not expecting anything, be prepared because you will most likely receive something, in some way, and possibly not from the original recipient. God, in His vast universe, has a funny way of noticing when someone is simply “stepping up to the plate!”

My greatest hope is that someday, in some way, we can all state, “I have enough!” And in this state of “enough,” may we easily give and receive in peace!

Thank-you for the gift of reading these words J

In abundance,
