Taming the Gremlin

Taming the Gremlin...

Taming the gremlin...giving light to the shadows...believing that we are worthy!

We all have this voice inside that tells us that we are not worth abundance and plenty. It tells us that we must work hard and long and endure suffering before we receive, if we should even receive at all. It tells us that others have great relationships, weigh less than us, enjoy nice things and are without money issues because they are somehow different than us. It tells us that it is selfish to believe that we should feel good, look good and have time for ourselves.

This voice is called the "Gremlin" and it has a name. The name could be "lack", "shame", "guilt", "family", "teacher", "society" or "friend". It could also be "control", "neglect", "anger", or "pain". There are so many voices that can be given a name. The challenge is to get quiet, recognize the voice, name it, and start to find ways to stop listening to it. The bigger challenge is to be able to laugh at it or tell it to "get
lost" when it shows up. The greatest goal is to deflate the gremlin, take away it's power and then thank it for the lessons.

Yes, I said "thank it"! You see, as annoying as the gremlin is, it does exist to remind us that there is something inside that we must learn about and grow through in order to truly start believing in ourselves. Once this occurs, we can start to call the voice by one of many different names..."abundance", "self-respect", "integrity", "peace", "forgiveness" and/or "love". We may even recall "family", "society" and "friend" in a much more positive light.

Ultimately, instead of visualizing a furry, little creature, begin to see and believe in a celestial angel....and believe that she/he exists within and wants to shine through us and surround us in every moment!

Here is to all of us believing in our Worth! What a different world it would be.....

Blessings,
Dr L
