Enjoy Simple Moments
Allowing our minds a chance to experience a singular thought may lead to greater and more fulfilling thoughts. The art of multi-tasking sometimes clouds the brain and inhibits all that lies beneath the multiple thoughts of chaos. Taking in a movie, reading, sleeping, dreaming of a vacation or practicing meditation all can provide waves of refreshing, healing, clean water to our minds. One or all can trigger something that has been buried deep beneath daily life.
Sometimes, multi-tasking acts like a barrier of suppressed fear to thoughts that may provide needed change. We think that if we just stay busy then we do not have to deal with the inevitable. Sometimes continuing to live in multiple directions halts us from doing something that can produce great change in the lives of many. Often times, multiple activities replace the “simple moments” that provide affection, pleasure and pure joy.
When moments come that provide a “break”, take them, cherish them, “BE” them! Allow yourself to experience a simple moment and hear the voice of God within you. Listen for instructions as to what to do next. Realize that the next task may be “rest and renewal”. Work to remove the guilt of “doing nothing”. And understand that these “simple moments” can be the calm before a productive and beautiful storm.
Then, when the moments begin to fill back up with countless new thoughts and ideas, take time to notice the new-ness that you have allowed to creep in! Do you feel more peaceful, content and thank-ful?
Enjoy the “simple moments”. Your heart and soul are begging for them!
