Boost Those Endorphins: Laugh!
Sharing humor is a wonderful way to lift the spirits of the self and many others who surround us. We sometimes find ourselves “bogged down” in the daily grind and forget that humor and laughter produce a natural high that is meant share.
If we take the time to come out of the “cubicle of life” and share a funny story, joke or a simple moment of impromptu humor, we just may find a little more sunshine in the day. There is a time and place for humor, of course! When that time and place is ripe, heed the moment and enjoy the benefits of the increased endorphins that are produced with laughter.
Personally, I truly enjoy a silly sense of humor and have found myself feeling bursts of energy through the connection that occurs when sharing moments of joy and laughter. I believe that it is fun for people to share time with the “happy little girl” facet of Dr Lorri who loves to have fun. Believe me, she loves to get to know the fun side of others!
Do you allow yourself out of your “cubicle” to share a silly or fun moment? Do you believe that it is healthy to share all of the parts of you? I recently read a quote from a CEO that stated something to the effect that he lead with enough transparency to allow people to know that he was authentic. Sharing both the silly and serious sides of ourselves allows others to feel comfortable in sharing theirs.
Let’s move the clouds with a healthy dose of humor and allow a burst of sunshine!
